  • Studio Policies

    • These policies apply to all orders and commissions placed with Josephine Dessine.
    • By placing an order, you confirm that you have read and agreed to the policies below.

  • Orders

    • A contract between you and Josephine Dessine is formed once an order has been accepted.
    • Prices and availability may change without notice.
    • Delivery charges may apply where relevant.
    • Estimated delivery dates are provided as guidance only. The studio cannot be held responsible for delays caused by circumstances beyond reasonable control.
  • Payment

    • Invoices are payable within 30 days, unless otherwise agreed.
    • All bank charges are the responsibility of the payer.
    • Ownership of artwork and products remains with Josephine Dessine until full payment has been received.
    • A deposit may be required before work begins.
  • Product Information

    • Every effort is made to ensure that product descriptions and images are accurate. However, descriptions are intended as guidance only and colours may vary slightly depending on screen settings.
  • Copyright & Usage

    • All artwork created by Josephine Dessine remains the copyright of the artist.
    • For commercial commissions, the commissioner is granted a licence to use the artwork only for the agreed purpose outlined in the commission.
    • Any additional use — including reproduction, advertising, merchandise, packaging, resale, or distribution — requires a new written agreement and may incur additional licensing fees.
    • The licence becomes valid only once payment has been received in full.
  • Private Commission

    • Private commissions are licensed for personal use only.
    • Artwork may not be reproduced, resold, licensed, or used commercially without written permission.
    • Commercial use requires a separate agreement and licensing fee.
  • Revisions and Changes

    • The commission fee includes the number of revisions agreed in the brief. Additional revisions or changes to the original brief may incur additional charges.
  • Cancellation

    If a commission is cancelled:

    • 25% of the fee before rough sketches
    • 50% of the fee after rough sketches
    • 100% of the fee after final artwork has been delivered
  • Communication

    • During a commission, timely feedback helps ensure the project runs smoothly.
    • If the commissioner becomes unresponsive for 30 days or more, the project may be considered cancelled. Any work completed up to that point will be invoiced.
  • Portfolio Use

    • Unless otherwise agreed, Josephine Dessine reserves the right to display completed artwork in portfolios, social media, exhibitions, and promotional materials.
    • Where artwork is displayed publicly, the artist retains the right to be credited as the creator.
  • Artificial Intelligence

    • Artwork created by Josephine Dessine may not be used in connection with artificial intelligence, machine learning systems, or training datasets without written permission.
  • Governing Law

    • These policies are governed by the laws of England and Wales.
