A Canvas for Joy

A bespoke piece is the opportunity to let your love loose. All whilst knowing you will make a memorable and cherished gift for years to come.

After completing your purchase, you'll receive a payment confirmation email with a form to fill out with your design requirements. Expect to upload images, references and specific ideas.

The lead time begins once you submit the form. I will complete the first stage and share it with you, at which point you can request up to two rounds of minor adjustments.

What is a Bespoke Plate?

A bespoke piece is a made-to-order ceramic plate, available in a variety of shapes and sizes. Think of it as reserving a creative slot. Once you purchase, you’ll receive a form to share your ideas, inspirations, and preferences. That form secures your place on the waiting list.

Commissioning a bespoke piece is your opportunity to create something truly personal. Whether it’s a meaningful gift or a special addition to your own space, each piece is designed to be both beautiful and functional. Some choose to hang it, some choose to eat off of it, some choose to rest it somewhere safe to admire. The choice is yours!

Releases are limited and follow a cycle to ensure each piece gets the care and attention it deserves. The lead time is typically four to six weeks. If this cycle is full, another will open soon. To be notified of new releases please sign up to my mailing list (no spam, I promise).

How does it work?

The Process

1. Make your purchase on the website

2. Fill out the bespoke form- you'll receive a payment confirmation email with a form to fill out with your design requirements. This marks the start of the lead time.

3. I will complete the first stage and share it with you, at which point you can request up to two rounds of minor adjustments.

4. I will colour the pieces and then fire them

5. Your plate will be sent out

I promise you're in good hands! The best pieces happen when a client either lets me run wild with creativity or is super clear on their vision from the start.

How long will it take?

The lead time begins on submission of the form. The making process is generally 4-6 weeks.

This is because:

Whilst the first part of the process moves quickly, the later stages - especially colouring and firing- take the most time.

Please don’t expect the full order to be ready quickly after the first stage - the early steps may seem fast, but the overall timeline remains 4-6 weeks due to the detailed finishing process.

Single-colour orders may be completed faster than full-colour ones, as full colour designs take longer to paint and finish.

Colouring and firing schedules are what extend the timeline, as each piece needs to be carefully processed and dried before final firing.

Edits

Necessary edits available on request after the line drawing is completed. Edits must be requested in one go. This will be the opportunity to tweak and/or add in anything extra.

Colours will be based on reference images unless explicitly requested otherwise in the form. The final stage before firing is not submitted for feedback, so if you would like to see it at this stage please let me know.

Ceramic firing is an unexpected and beautifully imperfect process. Colours will come out slightly differently every time so please note that exact colour matching is hard to achieve. The colour red is particularly unstable so i do not recommend designs that feature it heavily as this may lead to disappointment.

Extra and late stage edits

The addition of more colours after firing will require a separate sole firing in the kiln at a different temperature. The cost of this process will be £110. So please be sure to specify colour choices in the form. It is also important to note that adding colours onto pre-existing ones will thicken the glaze, making it more likely to chip in future.

Please note that any extra items requested in the final stages of the process (colouring) will require a late amendment fee of £40.

Please note that only one round of feedback is included in the price, if you wish to requests after this each round will be charged at £40.

Shipping reminder:

Duties are payable by you and will vary from country to country so be sure to check before so you have no nasty surprises!

Peeking into the Process

A step-by-step guide from your reference to our finished piece. This technique was taught to me by my mother, passed through hand and heart.

  1. 1

I draw the first stage inspired by the reference images. I photograph the piece and send it for approval. It is at this stage that amendments can be requested. It is then left to dry.

  2. 2

I match colours using your references, mixing glazes with care to get them just right. Since the glaze dries matte and chalky, the piece looks unregonisable before firing, so I don’t usually send progress photos!

  3. 3

The piece is then fired for 12 hours and left to gently cool. I then carefully package each one and sent it out.
